Cubist Countryside, Somerset

This project was for Honeycomb and the client a real departure from the more classic ‘Neptune’ styling we have designed heavily in for the pasted 8 years and the client had lived in for 30 years.

This home was most definitely modern, crisp and sleek in its architecture, very cubist in its space with open plan design and lots of window vistas to the rolling countryside of the Chew Valley.

The client wanted natural materials to be used as much as possible, and Ash was to be a theme due to the numerous trees located within the site and the house also being clad in this material.

Both the client and I had to fight hard not to bring much colour into this space, both lovers of bold tones this was a battle but I think that we managed to produce a soft and well balance palette of natural tones in the likes of the marble, ash timber staircase and stone within the build and pops of contrasting colour in the kitchen and items of furniture.

Our brief was to produce a build specification, add decorative lighting, fit out window treatments and key pieces of furniture so that the the client could start to see what living in this type of of property looked like. They will be adding in some of their existing furniture and then sourcing of other items will come later.

Let’s get started!
